#TRON will launch 3.5 hard fork upgrade on 2/28. New Features: 1. multi-sig and acct mng, institution ready 2. Dynamic energy adjustment to real-time network performance 3. 50% up performance & res usage 4. Better VM safety, events server for Dapps. Go! #TRX$TRX— Justin Sun (@justinsuntron) February 24, 2019

Later chiming in,

Sun would point out that “multi-sig, acct mng and custody are three major requirements from (institutions),” and that Tron has “received numerous demands from hedge funds, mainstream investors and finacial institutions” for these features.

At the end of last year, Tron revealed that testing of a multi-signature wallet was underway. This addition to the network will add an extra layer of security as multi-sig wallets require more than one authorization to validate transactions.

Along with the added layer of security,

the Tron network will implement a dynamic energy feature that will follow network performance. This feature, according to Today’s Gazette is a system designed to adjust energy based on what is required from the demand side, therefore enhancing energy efficiency on the blockchain network.

Also coming along with the fork, as mentioned by the Tron CEO, will be a 50% performance enhancement feature and better Virtual Machine safety and events server for Dapps to help continue the platforms appeal to developers.

These network upgrades in conjunction with Tron’s recent partnership with institutional-grade investment services firm, BitGo, is seen by Justin Sun as a huge move in TRX’s availability to big money inside the United States.

“With 3.5 upgrade and the partnership with @BitGo#TRON is ready! #TRX$TRX,” Sun tweeted on Monday.

And for those wondering how to prepare for this hard fork,

it appears there is a consensus on the official Tron Reddit board that no action will be needed as the fork is not backward compatible and will not branch off a new version of TRX.

Since the launch of its virtual machine in October 2018, Tron has become one of the top smart contracts platforms for DAPP developers. As of writing, the Tron network provides half of the top ten DAPPs by daily users, according to DAPPradar.com.
